Turkey: Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products rises by 23.35% annually
Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products (Agriculture-PPI) increased by 23.35% annually and 1.46% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Thursday.
Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 1.46%, on December of the previous year increased by 14.00%, on same month of the previous year increased by 23.35% and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 21.71% in September 2021.
Compared to the previous month in sectors; products of agriculture, hunting and related services increased by 1.44%, forestry products and related services increased by 3.39% and fishing products and other fishing products decreased by 0.23%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; live animals and animal products increased by 0.39%, non-perennial crops increased by 5.62% and perennial crops decreased by 5.02%.
The highest annual increase was 59.27% in fibre plants subgroup
In September 2021, poultry, live and eggs with 44.02% and cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with %35.51 were the subgroups where high increase realized. On the other hand, grapes with 5.40%, rice (in husk) with 6.55% and vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with %11.94 were the subgroups that indicated low annual increase.
The highest monthly increase was 15.84% in fibre plants subgroup
In September 2021, poultry, live and eggs with 8.67% and tropical and subtropical fruits with 7.24% were the subgroups where high increase realized. Oleaginous fruits with 2.65% and cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 3.68% were the subgroups that indicated low monthly increase. On the other hand, pome fruits and stone fruits with 6.53% was the subgroup where the most monthly decrease realized.
In September 2021, within average prices of 84 items in the index; the average prices of 38 items decreased and the average prices of 6 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 40 items increased. (ILKHA)
