Diyarbakır residents unite for Takbir Friday in support of Gaza resistance

In a show of solidarity with the Gaza, residents of Diyarbakır participated in Takbir Friday, an initiative called for by the Union of Palestinian Scholars.
The event aimed to salute the resilience of Gaza amidst ongoing Israeli genocide, with participants reciting takbir (the declaration of faith) as a unified expression of support.
Since the escalation of Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, the situation in Gaza has worsened, marked by severe humanitarian crises of hunger and thirst. In light of these circumstances, the Union of Palestinian Scholars deemed Aprill 11th as Takbir Friday, urging the global Islamic community to perform the takbir for one minute at 22:00 local time.
Diyarbakır, known as the city of prophets and companions, responded strongly to this call. Residents gathered at various locations, including İnönü Boulevard in Sur, Akkoyunlu Street in Yenişehir, and several other key areas, to collectively raise the takbir. The event witnessed participation from many, with some citizens heading to public squares, while others showed their support from their balconies.
This heartfelt demonstration not only highlights the strength and determination of the Diyarbakır community but also reinforces their commitment to standing alongside the Palestinian cause in the face of continued injustice. Together, they sent a powerful message: the struggle for freedom and dignity will not be silenced. (ILKHA)
