Siirt stands with Gaza: “Palestine will never be sold!”

The people of Siirt once again stood firmly with their Palestinian brothers and sisters, raising their voices against the Israeli occupation regime’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
In a powerful rally held after Friday prayers, hundreds gathered in 15 July Democracy Square under the slogan “Gaza is Dying, Stand Up!”, sending a resounding message of solidarity with Palestine and defiance against Israeli occupation and Western complicity.
Organized by the Palestine Solidarity Platform, the event served as both a moral outcry and a rallying cry for global conscience, calling on humanity to break its silence and rise against one of the gravest atrocities of our time.
“More Than 50,000 Martyred – The World Watches in Silence”
Reading a powerful statement on behalf of the platform, Mehmet Faruk Süzgün condemned the systematic slaughter of Palestinians, exposing the long-standing oppression inflicted by the Zionist occupiers.
“Since 7 October 2023, the occupation regime has escalated its massacres. Over 50,000 innocent civilians—mostly women, children, and the elderly—have been martyred, and more than 115,000 have been wounded or maimed. Hospitals, schools, homes, and places of worship have been leveled. This is not war—it is an extermination campaign,” Süzgün said.
Colonial Violence Dressed as Security
He reminded the public that this genocide is the continuation of 80 years of colonization, displacement, and apartheid by the Zionist regime. “This is not a conflict. It is colonial aggression. It is the destruction of a people—systematic, planned, and shielded by silence from so-called democratic nations.”
Süzgün exposed how the Israeli occupation deliberately targets Gaza’s critical infrastructure to destroy its ability to survive. “Hospitals are bombed, schools are erased, water is cut, and food is blocked. Gaza is being starved while the world debates.”
“Gaza Belongs to the Palestinians – Not for Sale!”
He also warned against recent political schemes by the United States and Israel to “buy” Gaza under the guise of reconstruction or foreign administration.
“Trump and his Zionist allies dream of placing Gaza under U.S. control—as if Palestine is up for auction. These plans are illusions. Gaza belongs to the Palestinians yesterday, today, and forever.”
A Crime Against Humanity
Süzgün denounced the double standards of international law, which continue to fail Palestinians. “The occupation regime spits on international resolutions, blocks humanitarian aid, and kills children with starvation. This is a crime against humanity—and it is being live-streamed to a silent world.”
He stressed that this is not just a Muslim issue but a human one. “In Gaza, children don’t play, they die. There is no clean water, no bread, no light. Yet billions remain silent. This is shameful. History will not forget those who stayed quiet in the face of genocide.”
Call to Action for the Ummah and the World
Concluding his remarks, Süzgün called on the Islamic world to break diplomatic ties with the occupation regime and push for real justice.
“Israel must be held accountable in international courts. Its leaders must be tried for war crimes. As the people of conscience, we will never stop marching until every Palestinian child can live in peace, dignity, and freedom in their homeland. Gaza is not alone, and Palestine will be free.”
The rally ended with powerful chants of “Free Palestine!”, “Zionists Out of Gaza!”, and “End the Genocide Now!”, proving once again that the spirit of resistance lives on far beyond Gaza’s borders. (ILKHA)
