Erdoğan holds phone talks with Niger’s President Tchiani
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with Niger’s President Abdourahmane Tchiani, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as regional developments.
According to official information, the call focused on strengthening cooperation between Türkiye and Niger across multiple sectors. President Erdoğan emphasized the importance Ankara places on advancing relations with Niamey and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to standing by Niger in all areas.
Erdoğan underlined that Türkiye will continue taking concrete steps to deepen the existing partnership, highlighting energy, mining and defense as key fields of cooperation. He noted that the two countries share strong ties based on mutual respect and common interests, and stressed Ankara’s readiness to further expand collaboration in line with Niger’s needs and priorities.
The phone call comes amid Türkiye’s broader engagement with African countries, where Ankara has been pursuing an active policy aimed at boosting economic cooperation, investment, development assistance and security partnerships across the continent.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations and voiced their determination to maintain dialogue and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern. (ILKHA)
