Hope Caravan Foundation delivers ₺200 million in aid to Gaza
The Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervanı Vakfı) has delivered nearly ₺200 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza under the current ceasefire, the organization announced.
President Cengiz Kurtaran said the foundation has distributed 380,447 hot meals, provided ₺19.8 million in cash assistance, and sent dozens of trucks carrying food, flour, hygiene supplies, shoes, clothing, and bedding.
The aid also included 8,144 shares of small livestock for sacrifice, a $615,000 hospital renovation project, a 100-person surgery project, and the delivery of two ambulances and one patient transport vehicle. Four tent cities, each containing 140 tents, as well as thousands of hygiene and first-aid packages, were also provided.
Kurtaran noted that before the ceasefire, the foundation supported the Global Sumud Flotilla to help break Gaza’s blockade. He said aid efforts continue in coordination with local partner organizations.
He also confirmed that an ongoing emergency medical supplies project with the Gaza Ministry of Health is nearing completion.
“We will never leave Gaza, Palestine, or the Palestinian people alone or without support,” Kurtaran said.
The announcement comes amid widespread mobilization by civil society worldwide in response to the conflict, which has seen relentless bombing and a failure by many world leaders to intervene decisively. The Hope Caravan Foundation's efforts underscore the critical role of non-governmental organizations in filling the humanitarian void. (ILKHA)
