Hope Caravan Foundation issues urgent humanitarian aid appeal for Sudan
The Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervanı Vakfı) has issued an urgent call for humanitarian aid for Sudan, where the ongoing civil war has pushed the country into one of the worst humanitarian crises in its history.
Following the 2019 coup, Sudan has been plagued by internal conflict, which escalated in 2023 with massacres carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) — a militia group backed by the United Arab Emirates.
According to information obtained from local sources and journalists working in the region, millions of people have been displaced, and nearly 200,000 civilians have been killed over the past six years.
Like many other humanitarian organizations, Hope Caravan Foundation has launched efforts to deliver aid to those in need and has called on donors to support its “Sudan Awaits Urgent Aid” campaign.
Mehmet Nurullah Günaydın, Secretary-General of the Foundation, spoke to ILKHA about the initiative: “In Sudan, there are elderly people, children, and women suffering greatly because of the civil war. Many of our brothers and sisters have been forced to flee to neighboring countries. As Umut Kervanı, with Allah’s permission, we have rolled up our sleeves to bring some relief to our brothers and sisters in Sudan. In the coming days, inshaAllah, our aid will reach them. We call on all benevolent people to support us in this effort. Just as we stood by our brothers and sisters in Gaza, we will continue to stand by our brothers and sisters in Sudan as well,” he said.
The foundation emphasized that every donation, no matter how small, can save a life and help deliver essential relief supplies to families in desperate need.
Those who wish to contribute can make their donations or learn more about the campaign by visiting the foundation’s official website: www.umutkervani.org.tr
The Hope Caravan concluded its appeal with a heartfelt message: “Do not remain silent while Sudan cries for help — extend your hand, share your blessings, and be a hope for the oppressed.” (ILKHA)
