Hope Caravan organizes charity fair to support needy families in Diyarbakır
A charity fair organized by Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı) to support orphans, vulnerable families and people in need opened at Sheikh Said Square in the Sur district of Diyarbakır on Monday.
The annual autumn fair, which runs from October 12 to 18, aims to raise funds to help disadvantaged families meet their basic needs as winter approaches.
Abdurrahim Karadeniz, deputy chairman of Hope Caravan, said the event had attracted considerable public interest on its opening day.
He said the fair offered a wide range of goods, including traditional local dishes, clothing, footwear, glassware and electronic products, allowing visitors to shop at affordable prices while contributing to charitable work.
“Alhamdulillah, our people are showing great interest in our fair,” Karadeniz said. “God willing, our citizens can come here and shop for their families at reasonable prices. The income from every product purchased will be used for our orphaned and victimized families.”
Karadeniz said the proceeds would help address the growing needs of vulnerable families, particularly as colder weather approaches.

“Winter is coming. Our victimized families have heating fuel needs,” he said, adding that the organization also planned to provide coats and boots for children.
“God willing, we will use all the income we obtain here for our needy families,” he said.
The initiative aims to provide practical assistance to families struggling to cover essential expenses, while enabling members of the public to contribute through their purchases.
Karadeniz said the fair opens at 8 a.m. and remains open until 10 p.m. each day through October 18.
He added that various activities would be organized on selected evenings, including events aimed at young people.
Calling on residents and philanthropists to support the initiative, Karadeniz expressed hope that public participation would help the organization reach more families in need.
