Istanbul Airport once again tops Europe in number of flights
Istanbul Airport was once again the busiest airport in Europe last week with an average of 1,556 daily flights, EUROCONTROL said on Thursday.
According to the latest European Aviation Report, Istanbul Airport handled an average of 1,472 daily flights, placing it at the top among major European hubs.
It was followed by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with 1,346 flights, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with 1,335, London Heathrow Airport with 1,290, and Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport with 1,246 flights per day.
The figures confirm Istanbul Airport’s continued position as a leading aviation hub in Europe, reflecting sustained traffic growth and operational capacity in the region. (ILKHA)
