Prophet Lovers Foundation marks Hijri New Year with call for “unity and revival”
The Prophet Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı) has issued a message marking the beginning of Hijri year 1448, emphasizing themes of resistance, renewal, and unity within the Islamic world.
In a statement titled “Revival Through the Spirit of Resistance”, read by Board Member Yakup Kaya, the foundation called on the Islamic Ummah to draw lessons from historical experiences and current global challenges, framing the new Hijri year as an opportunity for collective revival rather than despair.
“A sorrowful atmosphere” for the Muslim world
The message stated that the Islamic world is entering the new Hijri year under difficult conditions, referring to ongoing conflicts, occupations, and humanitarian crises affecting Muslims in various regions.
Kaya said the current period should be seen not as a moment of despair but as a stage for reflection and renewal, urging believers to reassess their historical trajectory and future direction in light of Islamic teachings.
Criticism of the Western system and reference to global issues
In his remarks, Kaya also delivered strong criticism of what he described as the moral and political foundations of the modern Western system, arguing that it faces a deep ethical crisis.
He referenced the “Epstein case” as an example of global scandals that, in his view, expose structural problems in contemporary international systems, including issues of exploitation, power, and accountability.
Emphasis on resistance in conflict zones
The statement highlighted what it described as “contemporary examples of resistance” across several regions, including Gaza, Palestine, Yemen, East Turkistan, and other areas experiencing conflict.
Kaya drew parallels between current struggles and historical events from the early Islamic period, particularly the Hijra of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions from Mecca to Medina, describing it as a turning point rooted in perseverance under oppression.
He stated that the “spirit of Hijra” represents a journey of resistance, renewal, and transformation, quoting a hadith: “The true emigrant is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.”
Call for Islamic unity and revival
The foundation argued that salvation for the Muslim world lies in returning to what it described as an Islamic framework based on justice, resistance, and moral values.
Kaya urged Muslims to learn from history, analyze contemporary global conditions, and strengthen faith and unity in order to achieve what he described as a broader revival of the Ummah.
Concluding the statement, the foundation expressed hopes for a Hijri year marked by healing for oppressed communities, strengthened Muslim unity, and the establishment of justice.
“As the Prophet Lovers Foundation, we pray for a Hijri year in which the wounds opened by global Zionism are healed, the oppressed attain salvation, and a Prophetic order governed by justice is established,” Kaya said, adding wishes for a blessed new year. (ILKHA)
