Scholar lauds HÜDA PAR's approach to resolving Kurdish issue

Researcher-writer Vahdettin İnce emphasized the crucial role of HÜDA PAR in addressing the Kurdish issue during his speech at the ‘Humanitarian Solution to the Kurdish Issue Workshop’ held in Diyarbakır.
Speaking in the second session of the workshop, İnce stressed that HÜDA PAR has undertaken a significant responsibility in the resolution process and called for broad support to alleviate the party's burden in tackling the longstanding problem. He noted that solving the Kurdish issue is a moral and social responsibility that cannot be ignored by any segment of society.
"Everyone Spoke, But the Government Remains Silent"
Addressing the complexity of the Kurdish issue, İnce highlighted that various perspectives had been expressed over the years. "Independence, federation, autonomy, self-governance—everyone has spoken, yet the government has remained silent," he remarked. He urged continued discussions despite the government's reluctance to engage actively in the conversation. According to İnce, ignoring the Kurdish issue does not mean it will disappear; rather, unresolved tensions will continue to impact both Kurdish and Turkish communities, creating further divisions.
He further pointed out that even those who once denied the existence of the Kurdish people and their language had eventually acknowledged the undeniable reality. However, he emphasized that verbal recognition alone is not enough; substantive political and social measures must be implemented to ensure justice and equality for the Kurdish people.
Preventing Future Suffering
İnce emphasized the need to resolve the Kurdish issue to prevent future generations from enduring the same suffering. He asserted that the voices of intellectuals, scholars, and policymakers must be heard and transformed into actionable policies by those in power. "We want future generations to be spared from these pains. It is our duty to ensure this issue is resolved," he said.
He also pointed out that the Kurdish struggle has historically been marked by repression, loss, and suffering. Families have been torn apart, cultural heritage has been suppressed, and economic development in Kurdish regions has been deliberately stalled. İnce underscored that true peace can only be achieved when the Kurdish people are treated as equal citizens, with their linguistic and cultural rights fully recognized and protected.
HÜDA PAR: A Movement for Freedom and Liberation
Highlighting the significance of HÜDA PAR beyond politics, İnce described the party as a movement of freedom and liberation. He argued that its mission aligns with the fundamental principles of Islam, which he framed as a philosophy of liberation. He also stressed the party’s role in preserving Kurdish identity, language, and cultural heritage. He elaborated on how the party’s principles stem from a belief in justice, equality, and the necessity of ending oppression against all people, particularly the Kurdish population, who have suffered systemic discrimination for decades.
Furthermore, İnce argued that HÜDA PAR’s political vision is one of unity and reconciliation rather than division. While some political movements approach the Kurdish issue with a radical stance, HÜDA PAR aims to integrate Kurdish rights within the broader framework of Islamic justice and national solidarity. He insisted that this approach has the potential to bring real, lasting change in the political landscape of Turkey.
HÜDA PAR’s Political Strategy: A Deep and Quiet Flowing Water
Comparing HÜDA PAR’s political approach to a deep and quietly flowing river, İnce explained that the party does not engage in direct confrontations but rather finds alternative pathways to progress. He suggested that political wisdom lies in persistence and adaptability rather than futile conflicts. He argued that loud and aggressive political movements often encounter resistance, while a methodical and strategic approach can yield more significant results.
He further illustrated this point by comparing political movements to rivers. "Pay attention, if you watch the rivers, the rivers are shallow in some places. In some places, they are deep and quiet. In those shallow places, the waters hit their heads on the stones. The water comes and hits the stone, and when it realizes that the stone will not soften, it immediately curls up and continues its flow in a different way. This is the flow of nature. Societies are also like water. You cannot talk to a mentality like a stone. It is said that I should flow like water from the edge of the stone. In my opinion, this political attitude of HÜDA PAR represents the deep, silent flowing water instead of the water that beats its head from stone to stone. Things that are beneficial to people happen in that deep water.”
He suggested that an effective political movement should know when to confront and when to maneuver around obstacles, ensuring that progress is not hindered by unnecessary opposition.
A Call for Continued Efforts
Concluding his speech, İnce urged all stakeholders to continue their efforts in resolving the Kurdish issue. "We must march forward with patience and determination, avoiding unnecessary clashes while staying true to our mission," he stated. He called for collective responsibility in ensuring justice and peace for the Kurdish people.
He also reminded the audience that while political activism is necessary, real change requires a transformation in societal attitudes. "The opposite of an ignorant person is a mild person, not a scholar. The opposite of a scholar is an ummah. A person who is slow-minded, who goes like deep water, who carries out his politics in this way is calm, slow-minded and deep water; There are very fertile, very beautiful things in it, but those who are noisy, fighting, fighting, and hitting their heads from stone to stone are ignorant, even if they are allame jihan. Since we have escaped from the hands of this monster, then we must continue our heavy-headed march."
The workshop, organized by HÜDA PAR, brought together intellectuals, politicians, and community leaders to discuss viable solutions to one of Turkey’s most enduring political and social issues. Participants expressed optimism that with continued dialogue and political will, meaningful progress could be made in resolving the Kurdish issue in a way that ensures justice, dignity, and peace for all.
