Security activities in Afrin

Security activities are being carried out in the Afrin city center where the TAF and FSA forces are controlled.
At the Afrin city center where the Turkish Armed Forces [TAF] and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have taken under control on Sunday's morning, security activities are being carried out by experts in order to neutralize mines and hand-made explosives.
On the 58th day of the Afrin operation launched by TAF and FSA, Afrin district center and all the districts connected to the city were seized on Sunday's morning hours.
FSA Forces began to enter the city from east, west and north directions at about 05:00 on Sunday's morning. In the meantime, a number of mines laid by the PKK/PYD were exploded, as well as some minor conflicts took place in city center.
TAF and FSA forces first took Eşrefiye, Mahmudiye and Cemiliye neighborhoods and customs and electricity distribution buildings. The FSA and TAF forces, which did not encounter any resistance in the district, provided complete control over the city at around 08.30 on Sunday.
After the control has been achieved, security activities have begun. In this context, TAF and FSA specialists neutralize mines and hand-made explosives.
After the announcement that the TAF was distributing in Afrin, the civilians in Afrin started to leave the area with the corridor opened from the south of the city. After the civilians departed from Afrin, the TAF and the FSA took action for the operation. (ILKHA)
