Turkish military kills five PKK/YPG militants in Iraq and Syria

The Turkish Defence Ministry announced on Saturday that Turkish forces have successfully neutralized five PKK/YPG militants in operations spanning northern Iraq and Syria.
According to the ministry's statement, operations in the Haftanin region of northern Iraq resulted in the elimination of two PKK militants. Simultaneously, three PKK/YPG militants were killed in the Peace Spring region of northern Syria.
The statement from the Ministry underscored Türkiye's unwavering commitment to combat terrorism: "Wherever the terrorist is, that is our target. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces neutralised 2 PKK terrorists identified in the Haftanin region in northern Iraq and 3 PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Peace Spring region in northern Syria. We will continue unpredictable, unconventional, rapid and continuous operations to destroy terrorism at its source."
This reflects Türkiye's ongoing strategy to conduct preemptive strikes against terrorist groups, aiming to prevent further attacks and secure regional stability. (ILKHA)
