Türkiye arrests 105 ISIS suspects in nationwide counterterrorism sweep

Turkish authorities detained 105 individuals suspected of ties to the ISIS terrorist organization in a large-scale operation spanning 23 provinces, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Thursday.
The raids, conducted between March 19 and March 27, involved coordinated efforts by police and gendarmerie forces under the oversight of Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, the Gendarmerie General Command’s Counterterrorism Department, and the General Directorate of Security’s Counterterrorism Department. The operations targeted suspects accused of financing ISIS and spreading its propaganda through social media.
In a statement on X, Minister Yerlikaya revealed that authorities seized numerous documents and digital materials linked to the terrorist group during the raids. The operations covered provinces including Ankara, İstanbul, Adana, Hatay, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Mersin, Samsun, and others.
“Our fight against terrorism will continue with determination and perseverance,” Yerlikaya declared. “We will never allow traitors who target our nation’s unity and peace to breathe.”
Türkiye, which designates ISIS (also known as DAESH) as a terrorist organization, has intensified efforts to disrupt its networks within the country, with regular operations aimed at dismantling the group’s operations and preventing attacks. The latest sweep underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism on multiple fronts. (ILKHA)
