Türkiye enters new phase toward a terror-free future, says Erdoğan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared that Türkiye is at a "new junction" in its fight against terrorism, following a high-level meeting with representatives from the DEM Party.
Speaking at his Justice and Development (AK) Party's parliamentary group meeting on Thursday, Erdoğan expressed optimism about the ongoing process, stating that the goal of a "terror-free Türkiye and then a terror-free region" would be achieved through national solidarity.
The President highlighted a "very productive meeting" held recently at the Presidential Complex with DEM Party's Pervin Buldan, who is also a Deputy Parliament Speaker, and the party's co-chair Mithat Sancar.
"We once again observed and reaffirmed that we share similar concerns about the continuation of the process with utmost diligence," Erdoğan told lawmakers.
He emphasized that the responsibility for success lies with all parties, calling for broad support. "All must share the burden on this issue, support the process and make their utmost contributions," he stated, while affirming that his People's Alliance is already doing its part and will continue to do so.
Expressing confidence in a successful outcome, Erdoğan noted that the process requires "a little more courage, efforts and self-confidence."
"Acting in total solidarity as the People’s Alliance," he concluded, "we will achieve our goal of a terror-free Türkiye and then a terror-free region."
The remarks signal a significant step in the government's efforts to build a broader consensus for its national security and counter-terrorism strategy. (ILKHA)
