Türkiye expresses solidarity with Panama after earthquake
Türkiye has expressed solidarity with Panama following an earthquake that struck the country on October 9, saying no Turkish citizens had been reported affected by the tremor.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said it was deeply saddened by the damage caused by the earthquake and extended its sympathies to the Panamanian people.
“We extend our sympathies to the people of Panama and express our solidarity with Panama during this difficult time,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, no Turkish citizens had been reported affected based on the information available at the time of the statement.
The ministry added that it was closely monitoring developments following the earthquake. (ILKHA)

At least 11 people were killed and 27 others injured in a collision involving a passenger bus and a truck in the Akhisar district of Manisa province in western Türkiye, local media reported.
Scholars and Islamic academics from Türkiye, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq gathered in Diyarbakır for the third and final session of the 11th Scholars Gathering organized by the Scholars and Madrasas Union (İTTİHADUL ULEMA), emphasizing the importance of Islamic outreach, unity among Muslims and solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.
Islamic scholars have called on Muslims to strengthen unity, respect differences of opinion and preserve brotherhood, warning that extremism and sectarian divisions threaten the Muslim community.
