Türkiye's Chief of the General Staff meets with his Bangladesh counterpart in Ankara
Chief of the General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu met Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman in Ankara during the latter's official visit, underscoring growing defense cooperation between Türkiye and Bangladesh.
The Turkish Armed Forces said the meeting took place within the framework of the visiting commander's official engagements. While no details of the discussions were disclosed, the visit reflects ongoing high-level military contacts between the two countries.
During his visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman is expected to hold talks with senior Turkish defense officials and visit facilities belonging to Türkiye's defense industry. The program is aimed at exploring opportunities to broaden cooperation in military training, defense technologies and the defense industry.
The visit comes as Ankara and Dhaka continue to strengthen bilateral defense relations through closer military engagement, institutional cooperation and exchanges of expertise.
As part of his official program in Ankara, the Bangladesh Army chief also held talks with Türkiye's Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.(ILKHA)
