Insulting Holy Quran cannot be deemed as freedom of expression—HÜDA PAR spokesman

HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) has condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Denmark, describing such acts as heinous attacks on the sacred values of billions of Muslims.
Noting that enmity and attacks against Islam, the Qur'an, and Muslims have increased systematically across Europe in recent days, HÜDA PAR spokesman Serkan Ramanlı said: " A fascist deviant who is hostile to the Qur'an is traveling from country to country in Europe, and continues his heinous attacks against the Qur'an under police surveillance and protection. This is unacceptable. We condemn and anathematize this baseness."
Emphasizing that this disgrace cannot be explained by freedom of expression and thought, Ramanlı said: “Defending the burning of the Qur'an as freedom of expression, Sweden did not allow the pages of the Torah to be burned. Of course, the books of any religion should not be burned and the holy of faith should not be insulted. The double standard set forth when it comes to the sacredness of Islam clearly reveals that only Islam and Muslims are hostile."
Ramanlı continued as follows: "Recent developments show once again that European countries experiencing a mental eclipse will not put a stop to this disgrace and will continue to escalate it.
Muslims have to protect their religion, their Books, and their brothers. Turkey should take the initiative and call the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for an emergency meeting. A concrete action plan of the Ummah should be put forward against such attacks. All necessary steps against Islamophobia should be taken without delay in the presence of the UN and international institutions and organizations.”
On Friday, far-right provocateur Rasmus Paludan torched copies of the Holy Quran near a mosque Friday and outside the premises of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen.
Paludan, known for his Islamophobic extremism, staged a similar stunt on Jan. 21 and announced he would burn the Noble Quran every Friday until Sweden is included in the NATO alliance.
These insolent attacks targeting the holy book of Muslims have sparked a strong backlash from the Muslim world at large, leading to calls to boycott Swedish goods. (ILKHA)
