China launches Long March 8A rocket carrying internet satellites
China launched a Long March 8A carrier rocket from the southern island province of Hainan on Sunday, successfully placing a new batch of low-orbit internet satellites into their designated orbit.
The rocket lifted off at 10:03 a.m. Beijing time from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site, carrying the 28th group of satellites for China's low-orbit internet constellation.
The payloads entered their designated orbit, marking another step in China's efforts to expand its satellite-based internet infrastructure.
The launch adds to China's growing network of low-Earth-orbit satellites, which are intended to support internet connectivity and strengthen the country's space-based communications capabilities. (ILKHA)
