Türksat satellites expand reach of Turkish UAVs, says Transport Minister
Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has highlighted the significant role of Türksat satellites in enhancing the control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly Türkiye's national UAVs.
In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the utilization of Türksat satellites enables UAVs to operate safely, with enhanced control and communication capabilities.
"We will be able to keep UAVs under control all over the world with all Türksat satellites, especially Türksat 5B. These will be able to communicate uninterruptedly with extended range and coverage,” he stated.
Uraloğlu underlined the expanding applications of UAVs beyond military and surveillance purposes, emphasizing their increasing utilization in engineering, scientific studies, and civilian sectors.
He highlighted that Türksat satellites play a crucial role in providing secure and encrypted channels for data transmission, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access or interference.
The minister underscored the transformative nature of satellite communication for UAV operations, particularly those conducted abroad. He cited Turkey's increased satellite data capacity with the launch of Türksat 17B, showcasing the nation's growing capabilities in this field.
“Türksat has become one of the leading operators in the region with its robust satellite infrastructure,” he added.
Furthermore, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that Türksat satellites enable UAVs to operate efficiently in regions across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The wide coverage areas provided by Türksat satellites facilitate uninterrupted and reliable operational activities, enabling high-speed data, audio, and image transfer for UAVs.
In conclusion, Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the pivotal role of Türksat satellites in advancing Türkiye's UAV capabilities and ensuring their effective operation on a global scale. (ILKHA)
