Afghan Deputy PM Baradar arrives in Azerbaijan for ECO summit

A high-ranking delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, arrived in Azerbaijan on Tuesday to attend the 17th Summit of the Heads of State of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
According to the Bakhtar News Agency, the Afghan delegation received a warm welcome from Azerbaijani officials upon arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
Baradar is scheduled to deliver a speech during the ECO summit and participate in high-level discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation, regional trade, and connectivity among member states.
In addition to his address at the summit, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani officials on the sidelines of the event, as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
The 17th ECO Summit brings together heads of state and senior officials from across the region to promote regional collaboration on issues ranging from trade and infrastructure to energy and development. (ILKHA)
