Afghan Red Crescent medical teams provide health services to thousands in Faryab province
Medical teams from the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) have delivered essential healthcare services to thousands of residents across multiple districts and villages in Faryab province over the past month, addressing critical medical needs in underserved communities.
According to ARCS, a total of 3,581 patients received direct medical treatment during the reporting period. Services provided included general health checkups, distribution of essential medicines, wound care, routine vaccinations, and screenings for malnutrition. Medical teams also offered prenatal and postnatal care for mothers, along with family planning services aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes.
In addition to hands-on treatment, 809 patients were given vital medical consultations, helping individuals manage ongoing health conditions and receive guidance on preventive care.
ARCS said the outreach activities were part of its ongoing humanitarian mission to expand access to basic healthcare in remote and vulnerable areas, where medical facilities are often limited or inaccessible. The organization emphasized that such mobile health services play a crucial role in reducing preventable illnesses and supporting community well-being, particularly among women, children, and the elderly.
The Afghan Red Crescent Society reaffirmed its commitment to continuing medical assistance across Faryab and other provinces, working to ease the burden on local communities amid persistent healthcare challenges. (ILKHA)
