Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate slams Israel’s war on press freedom

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli regime’s latest crimes in Gaza, denouncing the deliberate killing of journalists as a grave violation of freedom of expression and a continuation of the genocidal war against the Palestinian people.
In an official statement, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate said that five Palestinian journalists were martyred in a single day, alongside dozens of other civilians, during Israel’s ongoing bombardment of the besieged Strip. With these latest deaths, the number of journalists martyred since the start of the aggression has surpassed 250, making Gaza the most dangerous place in the world for media workers.
“We once again strongly condemn the ongoing genocide of Palestinian Muslims and the savage aggression of the Zionist regime,” the statement read. “The killing of journalists is a major crime and a stain on the reputation of those who claim to champion free speech. We extend our condolences to the families of all the brave journalists who have attained martyrdom.”
The Emirate’s condemnation comes amid growing global outrage over Israel’s systematic targeting of civilians, medical staff, and members of the press in Gaza. Human rights organizations have warned that the deliberate assassination of journalists is part of a wider campaign to silence witnesses, suppress the truth, and conceal the reality of massacres being carried out against the Palestinian people.
Palestinian media unions and international press freedom groups have likewise called the killings a war crime, demanding accountability before international courts. Yet, despite the mounting death toll, global institutions have so far failed to halt the bloodshed or protect journalists on the ground.
The Islamic Emirate’s stance reflects a wider sentiment across the Muslim world that the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza is not only an assault on Palestinian lives but also an attack on truth itself. (ILKHA)
