At least 3 civilians killed in Israeli airstrike on central Gaza
An Israeli airstrike on Monday killed three Palestinian civilians, including a child, in central Gaza, as military operations and heavy gunfire continued across multiple parts of the besieged enclave.
According to local sources, the strike hit the al-Baraka area of Deir al-Balah, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinians and leaving others injured. Medical teams rushed to the scene amid ongoing security concerns and continued aerial activity in the area.
The attack came as Israeli forces carried out further demolitions northeast of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza earlier at dawn, with reports of at least four structures destroyed. Residents also reported sustained gunfire east of the city, adding to widespread fear among civilians already displaced by months of intensified conflict.
Later in the day, Israeli forces reportedly opened fire near the northern edges of the an-Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps, as well as in the vicinity of the Wadi Gaza Bridge. Additional artillery shelling and sporadic shooting incidents were reported across other parts of the Gaza Strip during the morning hours.
The renewed strikes and ground activity come amid continuing humanitarian strain in Gaza, where civilian infrastructure has been repeatedly damaged and access to safety remains severely limited due to ongoing hostilities. Local authorities and humanitarian observers continue to warn of the escalating toll on civilians, particularly in densely populated areas and displacement zones. (ILKHA)
