Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei warns of US-Israeli “false flag” schemes
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, has underscored the central importance of national unity and resistance in confronting external threats, as he addressed the Iranian nation and the wider Muslim world on the occasion of the Persian New Year and Eid al-Fitr.
In a comprehensive message delivered on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei extended his congratulations on the rare convergence of Nowruz and Eid al-Fitr, while also praising what he described as the “remarkable victories of Islam’s fighters” and honoring those killed in recent conflicts and unrest.
Reflecting on the past Persian year, Ayatollah Khamenei described it as a period in which Iran faced “three wars” imposed by its adversaries.
He pointed first to what he termed the “June war,” accusing the Israeli regime, with backing from the United States, of targeting senior Iranian commanders, scientists and civilians. He stated that the enemy had miscalculated, expecting internal collapse, but was instead met with resilience from both the Iranian people and the country’s armed forces.
The second conflict, referred to as the “January events,” was described as a foreign-backed attempt to destabilize the country through unrest and internal disruption.
The third and ongoing confrontation, he said, began with the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on February 28, an act he attributed to US-Israeli aggression. He emphasized that the loss marked a painful moment for the nation, while also reinforcing its resolve.
Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the ultimate objective of Iran’s adversaries is to weaken and ultimately fragment the country.
He stated that enemies believed eliminating key leadership figures would create fear and despair among the population, but instead, he said, the Iranian people demonstrated vigilance and unity, thwarting these plans.
“The nation delivered a confusing blow to the enemy,” he noted, pointing to widespread public participation during Ramadan, where citizens combined religious devotion with what he described as a nationwide effort of resistance.
Highlighting Iran’s strategic strength, the Leader stressed that the country’s power extends far beyond military capabilities.
He said recent public mobilizations, including large-scale demonstrations, showed that adversaries are confronting not only military assets but also a deeply rooted and unified society.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian people for what he called an “incredible unity” across political, cultural and social differences, describing it as a divine blessing that has disrupted enemy strategies.
The Leader also cautioned against what he described as coordinated media operations aimed at undermining national unity.
He urged domestic media outlets to avoid amplifying internal weaknesses in ways that could be exploited by adversaries, warning that such efforts are part of a broader psychological campaign targeting public opinion.
Addressing economic challenges, Ayatollah Khamenei framed economic resilience as a key front in the broader struggle.
He emphasized that improving living conditions, strengthening infrastructure and creating wealth for the population are essential components of what he described as an “economic defense strategy.”
Announcing the theme for the new year, he declared: “Resistance Economy in light of National Unity and National Security,” presenting it as a roadmap for overcoming external pressure.
The Leader reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with neighboring countries, highlighting shared religious, cultural and strategic interests.
He particularly emphasized the importance of cooperation among regional nations and called for improved relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, urging unity to prevent division within the Muslim world.
Addressing recent regional incidents, Ayatollah Khamenei firmly denied Iran’s involvement in reported attacks in Turkey and Oman.
He described such claims as “false flag operations” orchestrated by adversaries to create discord between Iran and its neighbors.
Concluding his message, the Leader expressed hope that the new year would bring victory, stability and prosperity to Iran and the broader Resistance Front.
Quoting the Holy Quran, he reaffirmed a vision of empowerment for the oppressed and the ultimate triumph of justice, framing the year ahead as one of continued resilience, unity and progress for the Iranian nation. (ILKHA)
