Egypt firmly rejected any actions infringing upon the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their forced displacement from their lands, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
The ministry condemned practices such as settlement expansion, land annexation, and any attempts to uproot Palestinians, warning that these actions threaten regional stability and undermine prospects for lasting peace.
"Egypt categorically opposes policies aimed at transferring or uprooting Palestinians from their land, whether temporarily or permanently," the statement read, highlighting the devastating consequences of such measures.
Reiterating its steadfast support for Palestinian rights, the ministry emphasized Egypt's unwavering commitment to a just resolution of the Palestinian issue. It underscored the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation, enabling Palestinians to reclaim their legitimate rights, and securing their steadfastness on their ancestral lands.
The statement reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian issue to Middle Eastern stability, emphasizing that delays in addressing it exacerbate tensions and perpetuate injustice.
In a call to the international community, Egypt urged immediate and active efforts to implement the two-state solution. This includes the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, encompassing the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The statement comes in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal on Saturday, suggesting the relocation of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan. Egypt’s rejection of this idea underscores its commitment to Palestinian sovereignty and resistance to any initiatives undermining Palestinian self-determination.
This strong stance by Egypt reflects growing regional and international demands for justice, equality, and peace for the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
