Escalating ceasefire breaches in Gaza leave civilians dead and injured
Renewed Israeli airstrikes and military operations in Gaza have claimed the life of a Palestinian and left a child injured, highlighting ongoing violations of ceasefire agreements that continue to endanger civilians.
A Palestinian was martyred and a child injured as Israeli forces renewed airstrikes and gunfire across the Gaza Strip, part of a persistent pattern of ceasefire breaches.
Local sources reported that an Israeli drone targeted the Rumayda area in Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunus, resulting in the death of Abdullah Hammad. The affected area falls within the so-called "Yellow Line," a zone under Israeli control as part of the ceasefire arrangement, which governs roughly 53% of the Gaza Strip.
In a related incident, a child was moderately injured in the Mawasi region northwest of Rafah after heavy Israeli military vehicles fired at the tents of displaced persons, which shelter tens of thousands of Palestinians forced from their homes across Gaza.
At dawn today, Israeli warplanes renewed raids east of Khan Yunus and northeast of Rafah, while naval artillery intensified shelling off the coast of Khan Yunus. Flares were also used against fishermen and displaced residents' tents along the coastline. Artillery fire was additionally directed at Gaza’s coast and areas east of Khan Yunus from Israeli naval vessels.
Civilians across Gaza continue to face severe hardships as a result of ongoing military operations. Tens of thousands of Palestinians remain displaced, many living in overcrowded shelters with limited access to basic necessities. Humanitarian agencies report that essential services, including healthcare and clean water, remain disrupted, while schools and community facilities are being damaged or repurposed for military use.
Recent reports indicate that the renewed escalations have further strained already fragile living conditions, leaving residents exposed to both physical danger and psychological trauma.(ILKHA)
