Four Palestinians killed in Israeli drone strike on civilian car near Gaza City
Four Palestinians were killed on Saturday afternoon after an Israeli drone bombed a civilian vehicle near the Nabulsi junction, southwest of Gaza City, in what Palestinian sources described as a fresh violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Medical sources said ambulance crews rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies of the martyrs from the targeted car, which was completely destroyed in the strike. The victims were transferred to a hospital in Gaza City amid heavy damage caused by the explosion.
Local sources confirmed that the Israeli drone directly targeted the civilian car as it was traveling through the area. No immediate official information was available regarding the identities of the martyrs or whether they were affiliated with any group at the time of the attack.
Palestinian media, citing medical officials, reported that the strike not only killed four people but also wounded at least 25 others, some of them seriously, underscoring the wider civilian toll of the attack.
The Israeli occupation army, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for the strike, alleging that it killed Raed Sa’eid, whom it described as a senior Hamas commander and one of the planners of the October 7, 2023 cross-border operation. Palestinian sources have rejected Israel’s narrative, stressing that the attack targeted a civilian vehicle and resulted in multiple casualties.
The drone strike has fueled renewed anger in Gaza, where residents say Israel continues to carry out deadly attacks despite ceasefire understandings, further deepening the humanitarian crisis and instability in the besieged enclave. (ILKHA)
