Gaza under fire: israeli airstrikes leave 16 civilians dead, many injured

At least 16 Palestinian civilians, including children and women, were killed and dozens more were injured in a series of israeli airstrikes on Gaza early on Sunday, local and medical sources said.
The first strike occurred in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, situated in the central Gaza Strip, where an israeli airstrike devastated a residential building. Seven civilians, including innocent children and women, were confirmed dead, with additional injuries reported. The targeted house now lies in ruins, and rescue teams are working tirelessly to recover any survivors trapped under the debris.
Shortly thereafter, another israeli airstrike hit a house in the Al-Jenena neighborhood, east of Rafah in southern Gaza. At least nine Palestinians lost their lives in this attack, with ongoing rescue efforts expected to reveal more casualties. Reports suggest that the victims were from a neighboring house that also suffered severe damage.
Meanwhile, in eastern Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza, israeli artillery shelling struck several homes, resulting in the loss of many civilian lives and injuries to others.
In a separate incident, israeli warplanes targeted a house in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, causing additional casualties and injuries among Palestinian civilians.
The persistent Israeli airstrikes have plunged Gaza into a humanitarian crisis, with rescue teams facing challenges in accessing affected areas due to the intensity of the attacks. The situation continues to unfold as the international community closely monitors developments in the region. (ILKHA)
