HAMAS: Al-Aqsa Mosque incursions are part of the “religious war” policy of the Israeli regime
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement HAMAS has warned that repeated incursions by Israeli settlers into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque are part of a dangerous escalation, stating that the actions reflect a broader “religious war” policy pursued by the Israeli regime.
Harun Nasiruddin, a member of HAMAS Political Bureau and head of the movement’s Jerusalem Affairs Office, said the ongoing raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque represent a systematic attempt to impose a new reality at the holy site.
He stated that the incursions are being carried out within the framework of efforts to enforce temporal and spatial division inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that such steps aim to alter the identity of Jerusalem and its holy places.
Nasiruddin added that the escalation reflects extremist settler ideology, alleging that the Israeli regime provides full political backing for these actions, including attempts to impose religious rituals inside the mosque compound.
He stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively a Muslim holy site, warning that any attempt to change its identity would fail.
The HAMAS official held the Israeli regime fully responsible for the consequences of the escalation and called on Palestinians in Jerusalem, the occupied territories, and border areas to increase their presence at Al-Aqsa.
He also urged Arab and Islamic countries to take action against ongoing violations targeting Islamic holy sites and to oppose continued incursions into the mosque compound. (ILKHA)
