Sacit Pişgin, who was martyred in a stabbing attack while performing prayers at the mosque inside the HÜDA PAR Adana Provincial Presidency building on July 22, 2023, was commemorated at his graveside on the third anniversary of his martyrdom.

The memorial ceremony was held at Buruk Cemetery in Adana's Sarıçam district, bringing together family members, HÜDA PAR officials, representatives of civil society organizations, and friends to remember Pişgin's life and legacy. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and was hosted by HÜDA PAR Seyhan District President Yusuf Özbay.

Pişgin, who was serving as HÜDA PAR Adana Provincial Secretary at the time of the attack, was remembered as a devoted Muslim who dedicated his life to serving Islam and working for the Islamic cause.

Speaking at the ceremony, Orhan Erkuş, Adana Coordinator of the Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı (the Prophet Lovers Foundation), reflected on the Islamic concept of martyrdom and described Pişgin as a man whose life was guided not by worldly ambitions but by faith and service.

"The only concern of the martyrs was to make Allah's religion prevail on earth. This was also the sole purpose of our brother Sacit," Erkuş said. "He would work late into the night and often say, 'Let us work for Allah. Let us strive for Allah. We must continue working.'"

Erkuş said Pişgin lived with the spirit of şehidü'l-hay—one who lives every day ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah.

"Our brother Sacit had no worldly aspirations," he said. "When someone once offered him a suit, he replied, 'I will be martyred in the path of Allah. I will sacrifice myself for Allah. What need do I have for a suit?'"

Recalling an incident from several years before Pişgin's martyrdom, Erkuş shared that during a pilgrimage to Hajj, a fellow pilgrim had asked everyone in the group to write down their personal prayers in a notebook.

According to Erkuş, Pişgin wrote only two requests. The first was for Allah to bless him with a home where he could live peacefully with his family instead of paying rent. The second was a heartfelt prayer for martyrdom.

"He wrote, 'O Lord, grant me a beautiful martyrdom in Your path,'" Erkuş said. "Allah Almighty accepted that prayer and granted him the martyrdom he longed for while he was in prostration. When the notebook was reopened on the day of his martyrdom, everyone saw that the prayer he had written had been fulfilled."

Addressing the participants, Erkuş urged them to remain faithful to the mission and values for which the martyrs had sacrificed their lives.

"Whenever you visit the graves of our martyrs, renew your covenant with them," he said. "Promise that you will continue the cause they entrusted to us and carry the message of Islam to every heart you can reach. We believe that as long as we remain loyal to the trust left by our martyrs, Allah will grant us His help and victory."

The memorial program concluded with collective prayers for Pişgin and all martyrs, followed by refreshments for those in attendance.

Among those attending the commemoration were HÜDA PAR Central Consultation Board Member Salih Demir, HÜDA PAR Adana Provincial President Fethullah Beyazçiçek, district presidents, representatives of various civil society organizations, members of Pişgin's family, relatives, and longtime companions in the Islamic cause.
