Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem declared the recently established Gaza ceasefire agreement a victory for the Palestinian Resistance, emphasizing its steadfastness in achieving objectives while "Israel" failed to meet its aims.
Speaking at the 13th International Conference "Gaza: Symbol of Resistance" on Saturday, Sheikh Qassem highlighted that the agreement, unchanged since May 2024, underscores the resilience of the Palestinian people. He praised Operation Al-Aqsa Flood for revitalizing the Palestinian cause and cited global demonstrations in support of Gaza as evidence of a shifting international landscape.
“The Palestinian people and their Resistance fighters are the pride of the nation,” Qassem stated, commending groups like Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades, and other factions for thwarting Israeli schemes.
Qassem also urged reflection on the extensive losses Israel suffered during the conflict, from economic and military setbacks to internal political divisions and a damaged international reputation. He emphasized that Israeli settlers will not find stability in Palestine and warned against testing the patience of the Resistance.
On Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem praised Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, and the Lebanese people for their sacrifices in support of Gaza and defending Lebanon from Israeli aggression. He credited their efforts with thwarting attempts to weaken the Resistance, asserting its ongoing strength and readiness.
Regarding Lebanon’s presidential election, Qassem highlighted Hezbollah and Amal’s role in facilitating the consensus that led to the election of President Joseph Aoun, reaffirming their indispensable influence in the country’s political and national structure.
Qassem commended the Islamic Republic of Iran, under Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s leadership, for its unwavering military, moral, and financial support of the Palestinian cause, despite decades of sanctions. He also saluted Yemen, Iraq, and their respective leaders and peoples for their solidarity with Palestine.
Sheikh Qassem concluded by stressing the enduring strength of the Resistance and the importance of regional allies in dismantling Israeli objectives, vowing continued dedication to liberation efforts. (ILKHA)
