The Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervanı Vakfı) has announced plans to rebuild and reopen the Hind Al-Dughma Dialysis Centre at Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip.
This initiative, which will require approximately 22 million liras, was formalized through a protocol signed with the Gaza Ministry of Health immediately following the recent ceasefire agreement.
The dialysis centre, located in Khan Younis and previously rendered inoperative due to actions by the occupation regime, will now be restored to serve up to 100 patients daily. The project aims to be completed within three months, providing vital treatment options for those in need of dialysis in Gaza.
Cengiz Kurtaran, President of Hope Caravan Foundation, spoke to ILKHA (Ilke News Agency) about this significant project and the ongoing efforts post-ceasefire. "First of all, we congratulate the victory of our brothers from Gaza. There was a struggle for more than 15 months... They succeeded, and we believe that the Israeli occupation forces were defeated there," Kurtaran stated, acknowledging the resilience of the Palestinian people.
Since October 7, 2023, Hope Caravan has been actively involved in providing aid to Gaza. With the ceasefire, Kurtaran noted that the logistics of aid delivery have improved significantly, with up to 600 aid trucks now entering Gaza daily compared to the previous limit of 50-60 trucks. "As Hope Caravan, we will quickly dispatch our aid trucks to Gaza both through Egypt and Jordan," he affirmed, highlighting the importance of this humanitarian aid for the local population.
Kurtaran also called upon philanthropists to support the rehabilitation of the dialysis centre and other urgent needs like container housing, stating: "We will completely rehabilitate the 3-storey dialysis department of Nasser Hospital... We believe that as the Ummah, we will reconstruct Gaza as soon as possible." He further emphasized long-term plans for permanent structures, including mosques, schools, and rebuilding homes for martyrs.
The foundation's commitment extends beyond immediate aid, with plans to support Gaza "until the troubles are over and the cities are built," reflecting a long-term vision for recovery and reconstruction in the region. (ILKHA)
