Hezbollah launches multiple operations against Israeli military sites in retaliatory attack
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, announced a series of large-scale military operations early Thursday morning, targeting Israeli military positions, intelligence facilities, and settlements deep inside occupied Palestinian territory.
In a statement, the group said the coordinated attacks, codenamed Operation Devoured Straw, were carried out in retaliation for the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon. The operations involved a combination of rocket barrages and swarms of attack drones, striking targets up to 110 kilometers from the border.
Hezbollah stated that it carried out specific warnings to the settlement of Nahariya before launching two consecutive attacks. The first wave, involving attack drones, struck the settlement at 12:10 am. A second barrage of rockets and drones targeted Nahariya again at 12:45 am.
In some of the most significant strikes, the Resistance claimed responsibility for precision missile attacks on two major military installations in central and northern Israel.
At 12:30 am, Hezbollah said it launched a barrage of precision missiles targeting the Glilot base near Tel Aviv. The base serves as the headquarters for Israeli Military Intelligence Unit 8200. Simultaneously, another barrage of precision missiles was fired at the Beit Lid base, which houses training camps for the Nahal and Paratroopers Brigades.
Later, at 4:10 am, the group targeted the headquarters of the elite naval commando unit Shayetet 13 at the Atlit base, located south of Haifa, with a volley of specialized rockets.
Hezbollah also reported significant damage to Israeli aerial surveillance infrastructure. At 5:15 am, fighters launched a swarm of attack drones at the Meron airbase, a critical facility responsible for monitoring and managing Israeli air operations in the north. According to the Resistance, the strike successfully damaged one of the base’s radar systems.
In addition to the deep strikes, Hezbollah confirmed ongoing clashes along the border. The Ya'ra barracks was targeted with attack drones at 1:15 am. At the same time, artillery shells struck a concentration of Israeli occupation forces at the newly established Markaba site.
The group emphasized that its fighters remain on high alert, actively defending Lebanese border towns from what it described as continuous Israeli attempts to advance into Lebanese territory.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the full extent of the damage or the specific claims regarding the radar system at the Meron base. (ILKHA)
