Hezbollah says it carried out series of attacks against Israeli regime forces in southern Lebanon
Hezbollah said it launched multiple attacks against Israeli forces and military assets in southern Lebanon as tensions continued along the border despite ceasefire efforts.
In a statement, the group said the operations were conducted in response to what it described as repeated Israeli violations of ceasefire arrangements and ongoing attacks on areas in southern Lebanon.
According to Hezbollah, its fighters targeted an Israeli armored unit advancing near the border area between Bayyada and Buyut al-Sayyad with guided missiles, forcing the unit to withdraw.
The group also claimed to have engaged an Israeli Hermes 450 drone operating over the Tuffah region with a surface-to-air missile, causing the aircraft to leave the area.
Hezbollah further said it struck a military vehicle near Zoutar al-Sharqiya using an explosive drone and carried out additional drone attacks against Israeli troops and military assets deployed in several locations along the border.
Among the targets cited by the group were a building used by Israeli forces and a military communications vehicle in the Sal'a Hill area near Qantara, as well as a gathering point for Israeli troops near Iskandarouna in the Bayyada sector.
The movement also reported targeting an Israeli command center in Naqoura and a newly established military position near Marun al-Ras with rocket fire.
The Israeli military had not immediately commented on Hezbollah's claims.
Tensions have remained high along the Israel-Lebanon border since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023, with periodic exchanges of fire raising concerns over a wider regional escalation. Although ceasefire efforts have reduced the intensity of hostilities at various times, both sides have continued to accuse each other of violations.
Hezbollah has stated that its military operations will continue as long as attacks on Lebanese territory persist.(ILKHA)
