A suicide bomber detonated a bomb after exchanging fire with police in the Iskenderun district, the Governor of Hatay province Rahmi Dogan said in a statement on Monday evening.
The explosion occurred on the town's Fener Street, which was closed to traffic after the incident.
There are no civilian casualties, according to the statement.
