Iran-Iraq flights to resume on Sunday after high-level talks
Flights between Iran and Iraq will resume on Sunday, Oct. 4, with Iranian and Iraqi airlines set to restart services between the two countries, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said.
Abuzar Shiroudi, head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, said the decision followed high-level consultations between Iranian and Iraqi authorities.
The resumption will restore scheduled air links between the two neighboring countries, including services to the Iraqi city of Najaf, a major destination for Iranian travelers.
Shiroudi urged passengers to check the latest flight status and departure times through their airline’s official channels or the flight information system at their departure airport before traveling to the airport.
He also advised passengers heading to Najaf to purchase tickets through airline websites or reputable ticketing platforms and to confirm that their flights are operating as scheduled before departure.
The announcement comes as Iran and Iraq continue efforts to maintain and strengthen transportation links between the neighboring countries. (ILKHA)
