Iran launches retaliatory strikes on US military bases across region rollowing American aggression
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out precise attacks on a US military base in Jordan and 21 other American targets across the Gulf on Wednesday, Iranian media reported.
The strikes, which included targets in Kuwait and Bahrain, were a direct and proportionate response to recent US provocations and illegal strikes around the Strait of Hormuz. These American attacks had targeted Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radar sites, following what President Donald Trump claimed was the downing of a US Apache helicopter.
According to Fars News Agency, Iranian missiles successfully struck the US al-Azraq base in Jordan, destroying four key targets including hangars housing F-35 fighter jets.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry later confirmed that the country’s armed forces had hit US bases that served as launchpads for aggression against the Islamic Republic. In a strong statement, the ministry urged all regional nations to deny the US military the use of their territories for hostile actions against Iran.
“Tehran will not hesitate for a moment to defend its sovereignty, security, and people. Any aggression will be met with a decisive and crushing response,” the ministry declared.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently warned that it will not tolerate foreign aggression in its backyard, particularly around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global energy security. Iranian officials emphasize that these defensive operations demonstrate the capability and resolve of the Iranian armed forces to protect national interests against escalating US provocations.
Regional observers note that Iran’s measured yet powerful retaliation underscores its right to self-defense under international law in the face of repeated American military adventurism. (ILKHA)
