Palestinian girl succumbs to wounds as Israeli attacks continue across Gaza despite ceasefire
A young Palestinian girl has tragically succumbed to severe injuries sustained in an Israeli attack on western Gaza City, becoming the latest civilian victim in the ongoing Israeli military assaults across the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to local sources, Malak died from her injuries at a hospital, joining her father, Abdullah, and her sister, who were both killed in the same attack. The strike, which targeted an area in western Gaza City, has once again highlighted the devastating impact on Palestinian families, many of whom are already displaced and living in precarious conditions.
In a separate incident in central Gaza, five civilians were injured when gunfire targeted a vehicle near the Wadi Gaza bridge on Salah al-Din Road. Local reports indicate that the shooting was carried out by individuals alleged to be collaborators with Israeli forces, further exacerbating tensions and insecurity for residents attempting to navigate daily life amid the ongoing crisis.
Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, widely described by Palestinian officials, human rights groups, and many international voices as a genocidal assault, has resulted in nearly 73,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 172,000 injuries since October 2023, according to Palestinian health authorities.
Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025, Israeli forces have continued to conduct strikes across various parts of the enclave. Restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, food, medicine, and essential shelter materials persist, worsening the humanitarian catastrophe for Gaza’s civilian population, including large numbers of women and children.
The death of Malak Qaddoum is not an isolated tragedy but part of a pattern of loss that has shattered countless Palestinian families. Advocates emphasize that such incidents underscore the urgent need for a lasting and comprehensive ceasefire, full accountability for attacks on civilians, and unrestricted humanitarian access to prevent further suffering.
Palestinians continue to call for international intervention to halt the violence and address the root causes of the conflict, as the human cost in Gaza mounts with each passing day. (ILKHA)
