Islamic Emirate highlights trust-based relations with regional powers

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Hamdullah Fitrat, has lauded the positive stance taken by Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan toward Afghanistan, emphasizing the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to friendly and respectful relations with all countries, including its neighbors.
Speaking on regional cooperation and diplomatic engagement, Fitrat assured that no armed groups are present in Afghanistan and that Afghan soil will not be used against any other country. “This is a realistic viewpoint: considering the current security, stability, and progress in Afghanistan, establishing diplomatic relations is a top priority,” he said. “Afghanistan is pursuing a policy of strengthening mutual, positive, and trust-based relations with neighboring, regional, and global countries. We strongly reject unfounded concerns and claims about Afghanistan posing a threat to others.”
Political analysts have highlighted that the support from these regional powers offers the Islamic Emirate a valuable opportunity to bolster its political and economic ties. Moeen Gul Samkani noted that while the Doha Agreement explicitly forbids Afghan territory from being used against other countries, it lacks reciprocal provisions preventing the use of neighboring territories against Afghanistan.
Saleem Paighar added that neighboring countries should actively contribute to lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, while assisting in the development of the national economy.
The remarks follow a quadrilateral meeting in which China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan reaffirmed their support for Afghanistan as an independent, stable, and drug-free country. In a joint statement, the four nations emphasized the importance of establishing an inclusive government, upholding women’s rights, particularly access to education and work, and recognized the significance of regional initiatives, including the Moscow Format and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in addressing Afghan-related issues.
The Islamic Emirate’s statement and the continued regional support signal a renewed focus on diplomatic engagement, stability, and development in Afghanistan amid ongoing efforts to build trust and cooperation with neighboring and global partners. (ILKHA)
