Israeli airstrikes kill 21 Palestinians across Gaza as death toll surpasses 69,730
At least 21 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured on Saturday as Israeli occupation forces carried out a new wave of airstrikes across several areas of the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Medical sources confirmed that hospitals received the bodies of the victims throughout the day, with nine arriving at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, four at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, and eight at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
According to local sources, an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle near the Abbas junction in the Remal neighborhood of Gaza City, killing at least five people and injuring others.
Another strike hit the Al-Khudari family home on Al-Lababidi Street in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, leaving four Palestinians dead and several wounded.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp, Israeli warplanes struck the Ammouna family home, killing one person and injuring others who were rushed to Al-Awda Hospital. A separate attack on the Abu Shawish family home killed four more Palestinians.
Meanwhile, in Deir al-Balah, an airstrike targeting the Abed family home near the Bilal bin Rabah osque killed four Palestinians, with others wounded and transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
In central Khan Younis, a Palestinian man was injured after Israeli forces opened fire amid intense tank shelling south of the city.
Earlier in the day, medical authorities in Gaza announced updated casualty figures, reporting that 69,733 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, the vast majority of them children and women, while 170,863 others have been injured.
An unknown number remain trapped under rubble, unreachable by emergency teams due to ongoing bombardment and the collapse of rescue infrastructure.
Saturday’s attacks come as Israel continues its relentless assault on the Gaza Strip, deepening the humanitarian catastrophe facing its besieged population.
