Orphans Foundation delivers winter clothing to vulnerable children in Siirt
As severe winter weather grips the region, the Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) has distributed essential cold-weather gear to hundreds of orphaned and vulnerable children in Siirt, providing critical relief to families during the coldest months of the year.
The "Bring Joy to Orphans with a Coat" campaign, organized by the foundation's Siirt Representative Office, supplied winter coats and boots to approximately 65 children across the province. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to ensure orphaned children have adequate protection against harsh winter conditions.
"We did not leave our orphans out in the cold this year, either," said Mehmet Emin Ulu, Siirt Representative of the Orphans Foundation. "Thanks to the support of our charitable donors, we provided coats to around sixty-five orphaned children. This project is being implemented across all provinces under the coordination of our headquarters."
The foundation, which operates humanitarian programs both within Türkiye and internationally, relies on donor contributions to connect benefactors with families in need. Ulu emphasized the ongoing nature of these efforts, noting that similar distributions are occurring nationwide.
During the distribution, Ulu also drew attention to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging the public to remember children affected by conflict.
"While we protect our orphans here, we must not forget our orphans in Gaza," he stated. "We call on everyone to support our headquarters' 'Be a Hope for Gaza' project. People there are facing extremely difficult conditions; their tents are underwater. Social media posts clearly show the severity of the situation."
Ulu concluded with a call for continued community support, highlighting the importance of caring for orphaned children.
"For the sake of Allah, we invite all benefactors to support this campaign," he said. "Orphans hold great significance for the ummah. The fact that our Prophet himself was an orphan teaches us the value of supporting and protecting them."
The foundation continues to accept donations for both domestic winter aid programs and international relief efforts in conflict zones like Gaza. (ILKHA)
