Israeli forces pound multiple areas of Gaza despite ceasefire
Despite an active ceasefire, the Israeli occupation forces carried out heavy bombardments across northern, central and southern Gaza overnight, with Palestinian sources reporting several martyrs, including two children.
The Israeli military once again violated the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on 10 October, targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip, according to local Palestinian sources.
Residents reported that Israeli forces launched consecutive attacks on the eastern districts of Gaza City, including Shujaiya, Tuffah, and Zaytoun. In the north, Beit Lahiya and the Bureij refugee camp were struck by artillery fire, while in the south, Rafah, as well as the towns of al-Qarara and Bani Suheila east of Khan Younis, came under intense aerial bombardment.
Local sources said two sibling children were killed in Bani Suheila after Israeli forces opened fire in the area. Residents described widespread fear as civilian neighborhoods were struck despite the ceasefire.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 354 Palestinians have been killed during the ceasefire period due to continued Israeli attacks, with more than a thousand wounded and many victims still being recovered from beneath the rubble.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers and military forces also intensified their raids. Ten Palestinians were injured during an incursion into the town of Halayil al-Luz, while raids in Tubas and surrounding areas resulted in numerous arrests and the destruction of hundreds of homes, Palestinian reports said.
Hamas stated that Israel is “systematically violating the ceasefire,” calling on mediators—particularly Egypt and Qatar—to intervene immediately to halt the attacks. The movement said the ongoing strikes on Gaza represent “a continued form of genocide” despite the declared truce. (ILKHA)
