Khamenei warns U.S. against war: “Intervention will bring irreparable consequences”
Iranian Supreme Leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, issued a stark warning to the United States, cautioning that any military intervention in support of the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran would lead to “irreparable consequences” for Washington.
Speaking as the region teeters on the edge of wider conflict, Sayyed Khamenei said: “The Americans should know that any military intervention will have repercussions they could never mend.” He emphasized that such involvement would harm the U.S. “far more than it could ever damage Iran.”
US Involvement Signals Israeli Weakness
The Iranian leader interpreted Washington’s alignment with Tel Aviv as a sign of desperation and fragility within the Israeli occupation’s strategic posture. “The United States’ involvement in the aggression alongside the Israeli entity is an indication of the entity's weakness,” he stated, rejecting any illusions of Western superiority in the confrontation.
Khamenei underscored Iran’s long-standing awareness of the U.S.-Zionist nexus, revealing that Tehran had anticipated American involvement in any conflict launched by the Israeli regime. “This is becoming clearer day after day,” he said.
Message of Resistance and Retaliation
Sending a resolute message to both enemies and allies, Sayyed Khamenei reiterated Iran’s policy of reciprocal defense and deterrence. “War will be met with war, bombardment with bombardment, and strikes with strikes. The Iranian people will not surrender or submit to threats,” he declared.
He described the Israeli occupation’s actions as a “grave strategic mistake” that will not go unpunished. “We will not allow the occupation to escape unharmed from the great crime it committed by launching the aggression,” he vowed, promising that “life will become bitter” for the perpetrators of this assault.
National Unity and Moral Fortitude
Khamenei hailed the resilience and unity of the Iranian people, who, he said, have once again demonstrated their awareness and strength in the face of foreign threats. “The unity among all components of the Iranian people reflects maturity and awareness,” he said, affirming that the Zionist aggression has strengthened rather than shaken the nation's resolve.
Calling on citizens to carry on with life as normal, he pledged that Iran would handle the crisis with strategic precision and moral clarity. “The brave Iranian people's steadfastness in the face of the malicious Israeli aggression reflects our people's awareness and rational logic,” he said.
Pushback in U.S. Congress Against War
Meanwhile, resistance to escalation is also growing within the United States. Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna introduced a War Powers Resolution to block any unauthorized military action against Iran, aligning with similar efforts in the Senate by Senator Tim Kaine.
The resolution seeks to reassert Congressional authority over matters of war, pushing back against President Trump’s escalating rhetoric and attempts to bypass constitutional limits.
“The United States must not get dragged into another war in the Middle East without a full debate and vote in Congress,” Rep. Khanna told The Intercept, emphasizing diplomacy over destruction.
Tehran: Prepared, Resolute, Unafraid
As tensions rise, Iran’s leadership has made clear that it will not be intimidated by Western threats or Israeli aggression. Instead, Iran stands prepared, united, and confident in the righteousness of its cause—and the resolve of its people. (ILKHA)
