Lebanon's Hezbollah repels Israeli advances, intensifies operations across southern front
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah – carried out a series of targeted operations across southern Lebanon this week, responding directly to persistent Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement and repeated aggressions against Lebanese villages and civilians.
According to statements issued by Hezbollah's Military Media, fierce confrontations erupted overnight after Israeli occupation forces attempted to push deeper into areas surrounding the southern town of Majdal Zoun.
The Resistance reported that late on Thursday night, Israeli armored units advanced from the Shamaa area toward the Raghmin Triangle and Wadi Hassan under the cover of intense artillery bombardment and phosphorus shelling, approaching the outskirts of Majdal Zoun. Hezbollah fighters immediately engaged the invading forces with concentrated rocket fire, forcing them to retreat from the area.
Simultaneously, Resistance units launched coordinated attacks on Israeli positions in Shamaa using rockets and artillery shells, while anti-tank teams targeted two Israeli Merkava tanks with guided missiles. Hezbollah stated that both tanks were destroyed during the engagement.
Israeli forces reportedly attempted a second incursion toward Majdal Zoun at dawn on Friday. However, Resistance fighters confronted the advancing troops with small arms fire, heavy machine guns, and rocket-propelled grenades. During the clashes, two additional Merkava tanks were struck, compelling the invading forces to withdraw once again toward the occupied area near Tayr Harfa.
In another operation, Hezbollah fighters targeted a withdrawing Israeli convoy in the Wadi Hassan area with an improvised explosive device, reportedly destroying a military vehicle and inflicting further losses on the retreating force.
Resistance Operations

Footage Documents Resistance Operations
Alongside its battlefield statements, Hezbollah's Military Media released footage documenting an operation carried out on June 7. The video showed FPV drones striking a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the historic al-Shaqif Fortress in southern Lebanon, underscoring the Resistance's increasing reliance on advanced drone capabilities in confronting Israeli forces.
The Resistance also published an image of one of its FPV drones bearing the phrase, "No need to press." The message was widely interpreted as a reference to the pager explosions attributed to Israel, in which the detonation of communication devices resulted in the killing and injury of Lebanese civilians and Resistance members in multiple regions of the country.
For many in Lebanon, the continued operations of the Resistance are viewed as an assertion of the nation's right to defend its sovereignty and protect its people against repeated Israeli aggression. As tensions persist along the southern frontier, Hezbollah has maintained that its military actions will continue as long as Israeli attacks and violations against Lebanese territory endure. (ILKHA)
