Massacre in central Gaza: Families targeted as israeli airstrikes ravage al-Maghazi refugee camp
Zionist forces targeted the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, resulting in the loss of at least 70 lives, predominantly women and children, as reported by Palestinian health officials.
The strikes, initiated hours before midnight, continued into the early hours of Monday, with authorities cautioning that the death toll might escalate.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed receiving the bodies of 70 victims from the Israeli attacks on the refugee camp. Among the casualties, several wounded civilians were transported to the hospital, with some in critical condition.
Israeli warplanes intensified the assault with more than 50 consecutive airstrikes on Monday, focusing on the al-Nuseirat, al-Bureij, and al-Maghazi refugee camps. The relentless bombings left the region in devastation, prompting strong condemnation from various quarters.
Health Ministry spokesperson in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qudra, labeled the events at al-Maghazi as a "massacre" perpetrated against a densely populated residential area. Al-Qudra also noted that Israeli forces targeted main roads connecting the camps in central Gaza, hindering the arrival of ambulances and civil defense crews to the affected areas.
The government media office condemned the Israeli army's actions, describing it as a heinous massacre in al-Maghazi camp. The airstrikes specifically targeted homes belonging to the Musallam, Sisalem, and an-Nawasra families.
