No end to Gaza genocide: Israeli warplanes strike shelters, defying UN calls

Israeli warplanes continued their relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip on Sunday morning, killing and injuring numerous civilians across the besieged enclave, according to local and medical sources.
In the central Gaza Strip, seven Palestinians were killed when an Israeli airstrike struck a civilian vehicle traveling along Al-Rashid Street in Deir al-Balah. The vehicle was reportedly carrying unarmed civilians at the time of the attack.
Meanwhile, in the northern Gaza Strip, a woman was killed in the Jabalia al-Balad area after an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians, witnesses reported.
Further tragedy unfolded as Israeli airstrikes hit two schools being used as shelters for displaced families: Saad Bin Muadh School in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and Al-Dahyan School in Sheikh Radwan. Casualties have been reported from both locations, though the full toll remains unclear amid ongoing bombardments.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate under the weight of Israel's military campaign, which has been ongoing since October 2023. According to the latest figures, at least 50,933 Palestinians have been killed and over 116,045 injured, with thousands more feared buried under rubble and unreachable due to the intensity of the strikes.
Despite mounting international pressure, including UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire and provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent acts of genocide, Israel's assault on Gaza shows no sign of abating.
Human rights organizations and civil society actors have repeatedly condemned the attacks on civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and shelters, as part of what many are calling a deliberate and systematic campaign of collective punishment against the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
