North Korea blasts U.S. Gaza plan as violation of international law

North Korean state media has strongly condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed plan to occupy the Gaza Strip and expel its population of more than two million Palestinians, describing it as "slaughter and robbery."
In a commentary published on Wednesday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) accused the U.S. of outrageous outbursts that trample on the Palestinians' aspirations for regional peace and a stable life. While Trump was not explicitly named, the criticism was clear.
"The present U.S. administration on February 4 declared that if Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are displaced to other parts, the U.S. will take over it. On February 9, the U.S. again blustered that it would buy, own, and administer Gaza and that it could be divided into other regions to be rebuilt by other countries,” the commentary stated.
KCNA highlighted the international outrage, with not only Palestine, Iran, and other Middle East countries but also Western allies of the U.S. denouncing the plan. They labeled it an "act of deporting people in Gaza," a "wanton violation of the UN Charter and international law," and a "major obstacle to the two-state solution."
The commentary asserted that the U.S.'s actions in Gaza reflect its "natural character of existing through massacre and plunder" and its ambition for world domination. It also criticized the U.S. for supporting Israel's actions in the region, stating that the U.S. policy towards the Middle East is the main cause of the Gaza crisis.
KCNA further condemned the U.S. for attempting to mock international law and principles, citing past actions such as proposing to make Greenland part of the U.S., advocating jurisdiction over the Panama Canal, and renaming the Mexico Bay the "American Bay."
"The sovereignty, right to self-determination, and territorial integrity of the countries and nations can never be a bargaining chip or a mockery of the U.S.," the commentary concluded. "The U.S. should awaken from its anachronistic daydream and stop at once the act of encroaching upon the dignity and sovereignty of other countries and nations." (ILKHA)
