One civilian killed, several others injured as Israel intensifies bombardment across Gaza
Israeli occupation forces continued their military assault across the Gaza Strip on Friday, killing at least one Palestinian and wounding several others, including a young girl, in a series of airstrikes and artillery attacks targeting residential areas, medical sources and local correspondents said.
According to a source at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in Gaza City. Several others were injured in the attack.
A Safa correspondent reported that a woman and a young girl were among those taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex after an Israeli drone struck an area near Taj Mall on Al-Yarmouk Street in central Gaza City.
Israeli occupation forces also opened fire on the eastern neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah, east of Gaza City, while Israeli military helicopters bombed a house on Al-Mu’assasat Street in the western part of the city. Although no casualties were immediately reported from that strike, Israeli naval vessels simultaneously shelled Gaza City's coastline, further intensifying the bombardment.
In northern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles advanced near the Al-Trans area in Jabalia, accompanied by heavy gunfire. Residents reported intensified military activity as occupation forces continued operations across the area.
Central Gaza also came under attack as Israeli helicopters opened fire east of Al-Masdar village and east of Deir Al-Balah, adding to the relentless bombardment that has gripped the enclave.
In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli drones fired extensively toward the eastern area of Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis, as Israeli military vehicles pushed deeper into the area.
Witnesses reported that Israeli helicopters, tanks, and ground forces continued firing on Al-Qarara, while tank shells struck surrounding neighborhoods. Gunfire also reached Hamad City and nearby residential districts. Israeli forces fired illumination rounds over eastern Khan Yunis, while naval vessels shelled the city's coastline.
Israeli artillery additionally targeted western Rafah, continuing the military campaign across southern Gaza.
On Thursday, Gaza's Ministry of Health reported that four Palestinians had been killed and 28 others injured during the previous 24 hours as Israeli attacks continued throughout the besieged territory.
According to the ministry, three of the victims were killed in recent Israeli strikes, while a fourth succumbed to injuries sustained in an earlier attack.
Health officials also warned that many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lying in the streets, with ambulance crews and civil defense teams unable to reach them because of continuous Israeli bombardment and the dangerous security conditions.
The ministry said that since the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 1,127 Palestinians and wounded 3,643 others, while 800 bodies have been recovered during the same period.
Since the beginning of Israel's military offensive on October 7, 2023, the Palestinian death toll has risen to 73,250, with 173,751 people injured, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.
Palestinian officials and humanitarian organizations continue to warn of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of the ongoing Israeli offensive, as repeated attacks on residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure deepen the suffering of Gaza's population amid an already severe humanitarian crisis.
