Operation Nasr 2: Iran targets key US military facilities across the region
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of the second wave of Operation Nasr 2, carrying out missile and one-way attack drone strikes against US military installations in Bahrain and Jordan in what it described as a legitimate response to continued American aggression against the Islamic Republic.
In its first communiqué, the IRGC said its forces targeted the US-operated Juffair naval base in Bahrain, striking key military infrastructure used to support US operations in the region.
According to the statement, Iranian missiles destroyed weapons support depots, a satellite communications center, and accommodation facilities housing American military personnel.
The IRGC said the operation marked the opening phase of Iran's response to renewed US airstrikes on Iranian territory, including attacks on military positions and strategic locations in the country's southern coastal provinces.
In a second statement, the IRGC announced that its Aerospace Force and Navy expanded the operation by launching coordinated missile and drone attacks against facilities linked to the US Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain.
The IRGC said the strikes ignited fuel storage sites and destroyed several key defensive systems, including a Patriot air defense radar, the fleet's air control radar, and a C-RAM radar used to intercept incoming projectiles.
Iranian forces also claimed to have completely destroyed the command and monitoring center responsible for operating unmanned guided boats deployed by US forces in the Persian Gulf.
The IRGC stressed that the attacks were a direct response to Washington's continued military strikes against Iran and warned that retaliatory operations would continue as long as US aggression persists.
In its ninth communiqué, the IRGC announced the third phase of the second wave of Operation Nasr 2, confirming that ballistic missiles targeted strategic US military positions at an airbase in Jordan allegedly used to facilitate attacks against Iran.
Addressing the Jordanian people directly, the IRGC emphasized that the strikes were directed solely at American military forces stationed on Jordanian soil and not at the Kingdom or its citizens.
The operation, carried out before dawn under the slogan "Ya l-Tharat al-Husayn" ("O Avengers of Husayn"), targeted what the IRGC described as "important facilities and the positions of the occupying American army."
The statement accused Washington of using regional military bases to wage aggression against Iran and asserted that US operations had resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians, including schoolchildren and teachers in the southern Iranian city of Minab.
The IRGC underscored that Iran harbors no hostility toward Jordan, describing the Jordanian people as "brothers" and expressing appreciation for their longstanding support for the Palestinian cause.
"We do not have enmity with your country at all; rather, we hold great affection for the noble people of Jordan," the statement said.
The communiqué praised Jordanians for their awareness of the suffering endured by the Palestinian people and condemned Israel's military campaign in Gaza, which it said has been carried out with direct US political and military support.
The IRGC urged Jordanians to demand the removal of American military bases from their territory, arguing that their continued presence threatens regional peace and security while enabling further aggression against independent nations.
The IRGC's announcements coincided with reports from regional media of explosions and smoke rising from the vicinity of the US military facility in Manama, Bahrain.
Additional reports indicated explosions at American military facilities in Kuwait and at Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Airbase, as military exchanges between Iran and the United States continued to intensify across the region.
The latest operations represent another stage in Iran's declared campaign to defend its sovereignty following successive US airstrikes targeting Iranian territory.
Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that any attack on the country's territory will be met with a firm and proportionate response, stressing that the Islamic Republic will continue exercising what it describes as its legitimate right to self-defense until US military aggression ceases. (ILKHA)
