Yetimler Vakfı (Orphans Foundation) Chairman Fikri Karavil has conducted a series of visits to Afghanistan to inspect the ongoing construction of the foundation's orphanage complex and hold meetings with local officials and project representatives as work on the second phase continues.

The foundation, which provides humanitarian assistance to orphans, fatherless children, and disadvantaged families in various parts of the world, said the visit was aimed at monitoring the progress of one of its flagship projects and assessing future development plans.

During his visit, Karavil toured the orphanage construction site, where he received detailed briefings from officials of the contractor company overseeing the project.

According to project representatives, construction of the teachers' residence and the health clinic, both part of the second phase of the complex, is progressing steadily and remains on schedule.

The clinic is expected to provide basic healthcare services not only to children living at the orphanage but also to needy families residing in surrounding communities.

Contractor officials stated that the second phase of the project is expected to be completed within approximately three months.

Multi-Phase Project to Support Orphans

The orphanage complex is designed as a comprehensive educational and social development center that will serve orphaned children while also contributing to the welfare of the local community.

Foundation officials said the project extends beyond providing shelter by creating an environment where children can receive education, healthcare, and vocational training.

Following the completion of the current construction phase, the project will move into its third stage, which includes the construction of additional dormitories and sports facilities aimed at supporting the children's physical and social development.

The fourth and final phase will focus on establishing vocational training workshops, enabling young residents to acquire practical skills that will help them become self-sufficient and prepare for future employment opportunities.

The foundation said the long-term objective is to provide orphaned children with not only a safe place to live but also the education, healthcare, and professional skills needed to build independent and productive lives.

Appeal to Philanthropists

Following his inspections, Karavil emphasized the importance of continued charitable support to ensure the successful completion of the project.

"This complex is not merely a project consisting of buildings," he said. "It is a place where the future, education, health, and hopes of orphaned children are being built."

He noted that every contribution made by donors directly supports vulnerable children and helps create new opportunities for those who have lost parental care.

"Every contribution made will bring a smile to a child's face and a new beginning to an orphan's life. We invite all our philanthropist brothers and sisters to support this caravan of goodness," Karavil said.

Expanding Humanitarian Efforts

Yetimler Vakfı has been implementing humanitarian projects in Afghanistan for several years, including orphan sponsorship programs, educational assistance, food distribution, emergency relief, and the construction of social welfare facilities.

Foundation officials said the orphanage complex represents one of the organization's largest long-term investments in Afghanistan and is intended to serve as a model center where orphaned children can receive comprehensive care, education, and life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
